How To Grow A Beard For The First Time
If you are one of those who have finally decided to take the step to grow a beard for the first time , this post is for you. Congratulations on leaving the dark (and conventional) side and welcome to the light side of the force!
When you grow a beard for the first time , you are a bit lost, it has happened to all of us. He does not know very well how to grow a beard , nor what has to be done to make it grow perfectly, he has no idea how it will turn out in the end, nor how long to wait to determine if he is on the right track.
Tips for the first beard.
But don’t worry, Burnt Whiskey Beard Co is here to give you a series of tips (invaluable we believe) so that you can at least learn from our experience and play with an advantage.
I wish we had had someone in his day to guide us with our first beard (particularly I would have saved myself more than one and more than two disappointments, which ended in full shaving and starting over) to get our first beard to grow.
How to make my beard grow faster?
Each beard has its rhythm and time , so don’t get obsessed with its growth speed. It is true that massaging the beard and brushing it stimulates irrigation and helps its growth, but not all people have the same effect.
Obsessing about it will only create expectations that are likely to be unfulfilled at first. I assure you that in this initial phase, the worst thing that can happen to you is that you fill your head with false expectations. Go step by step and be realistic.
Don’t obsess over the look of your new beard either, don’t be in a hurry and don’t judge it ahead of time (or let others do it).
Do not expect miracles overnight, patience and perseverance is essential to achieve a great and envied beard .
Trim your beard.
It is natural that as soon as you see that the hair begins to shape your new beard, you will be tempted to start shaping it , applying small adjustments and trimmings .
Don’t do it , give it time and let it continue to grow. Our advice is that you do not start making small cuts before their first month of life , forget it, there is nothing to cut .
And as for the big cuts (after the first month of your beard’s life), remember that a beard needs at least three months to be trimmed and groomed as God intended .
Buy beard accessories.
Buy accessories for your beard before having it, it is an exclusively motivational issue for when the moments of doubt arrive (which will come), that investment helps us to persist.
It is not necessary to make a large investment (we do not recommend it), but an investment in beard accessories is enough to serve as an incentive to continue with your great mission when the forces weaken.
The mental mechanism is the same one you set for yourself (yes, we do too) when you join a gym and pay two months in advance to force yourself to go.
Use the same trick with your beard , invest in it so that when moments of weakness and doubt come, it’s harder for you to back down.
Our recommendation is that you buy at least:
A beard oil .
A beard comb or brush .
A small bottle of facial moisturizer . You can use it at any time and it will help you during the itchy and stinging days of the first weeks.
2 week beard.
It is very likely that two weeks after starting to grow a beard , the first setback will begin: the itching will begin .
The positive part is that this burning and itching phase will not last long (usually a week or ten days ).
To mitigate itching, wash your beard more frequently , always using neutral soaps (the beard is still very short, and for now it is not necessary to invest in a beard soap).
This phase is the perfect time to start familiarizing yourself with beard oil , a product that you have to learn to handle (it’s not complicated but it has its trick) and that will be a great ally throughout the life of your great beard .
Relieve itchy beard.
Use beard oils that contain Jojoba extracts to relieve itching and Vitamins , which in addition to relieving itching , will moisturize the skin under the beard making this first mishap more bearable.
And get used to the idea , it’s going to sting you, you’ll feel weird with that incipient hair that appears on your face and yes, it’s going to sting you but think that this is just a phase that lasts a few days and that will allow you to know the oils to beard , learn to master them and explore new fragrances and textures.
Beard types.
Do not get a premeditated idea of the type of beard you want to get, there are many types of beards and we assure you that there is one for you.
Do not be so bold as to think that you would like to have a brand new beard without a mustache for example.
Beards without a mustache are very original, but they require very specific facial features , it does not have to be the one that best fits your features .
Also, don’t get obsessed with having a brand new Hipster Beard or with any of the many types of beards that exist and that you would certainly like to have.
